Account Integrity and Ownership

  • Single Account per User: Techihire believes in empowering individuals. Each user is permitted one account to prevent fraud and maintain a secure community. Attempting to create multiple accounts will result in suspension or termination of all related accounts.
  • Secure and Private Access: You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Any unauthorized access to your account will be investigated thoroughly. Always use strong, unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication to enhance security.
  • Authentic and Transparent Profiles: Accuracy is fundamental. We require that all details in your profile—including skills, experience, and personal background—are truthful and up to date. Misleading profiles or exaggeration of qualifications is not allowed.

 

Financial Transparency and Fair Transactions

  • Guaranteed Payment Transparency: Freelancers deserve to be paid for their work fairly and on time. Techihire ensures that all payment agreements are clear before any work starts, and we offer real-time tracking of payment milestones to ensure transparency.
  • Payment Security and Compliance: All financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and invoicing, must be processed through Techihire’s secure platform. External payment arrangements are prohibited to safeguard both freelancers and clients.
  • Fair Fees for All: Techihire operates on a fair and transparent fee structure, with clear breakdowns of service charges based on project or hourly work or fixed price projects. Projects can subsequently be broken down into milestones. We ensure that fees are competitive while supporting a sustainable platform for all users.
  • Automated Tax Compliance: As a freelancer, student using this platform, you acknowledge and agree that you are an independent contractor. You are solely responsible for determining your tax obligations and paying any applicable taxes, including income tax, VAT, GST, or similar taxes in your country of residence or work. The platform does not withhold taxes on your behalf unless required by law.

  • Proactive Fraud Prevention: Techihire employs cutting-edge fraud detection technologies to protect our community from potential scams, fake projects, and fraudulent users. Any suspicious activity will be reviewed, and violators will face immediate penalties, including possible account suspension. Freelancers and students should follow the relevant steps to avoid fraudulent incidents from occurring. If appropriate steps are not taken to prevent fraud, it will be deemed the responsibility of the freelancer or student responsibility.
  • Advanced Profile Verification: As part of our commitment to security, we offer advanced identity verification tools, allowing both freelancers and clients to confirm their legitimacy in a fast and secure manner. Profiles that do not meet our verification standards will not be allowed to participate fully on the platform. Verification process for education through digital certificate – upload to student / freelancer’s profile.

  • Zero Tolerance for Discrimination: Techihire is a platform that celebrates diversity. Any discriminatory language or behavior, whether based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or other personal characteristics, will result in an immediate ban from the platform.

 

Work Quality and Dispute-Free Ecosystem

  • Commitment to Deliverables: Freelancers on Techihire are expected to deliver high-quality work as agreed upon in the initial contract. If delays or issues arise, users must communicate proactively to address the situation.
  • No Scope Creep: To promote fairness, scope changes must be mutually agreed upon and documented within the platform. Work outside the agreed scope without client approval is not permitted.
  • Dispute Resolution Model: Should conflicts arise, both freelancers and clients can access a dedicated mediator to resolve issues without resorting to third-party arbitration. Our approach aims to find solutions that benefit both parties and foster long-term collaborations.

Upwork's dispute resolution model is a process that allows clients and freelancers to resolve disputes through a series of steps:

  • Filing a Dispute: If a freelancer or client believes there is an issue that needs resolving—whether it relates to payment, project scope, or deadlines—they can initiate a dispute directly on the Techihire platform. The filing process is simple, with clear instructions provided to ensure all relevant details are captured.
  • Notification to the Other Party: Once a dispute is filed, the opposing party will be immediately notified via email and through a platform notification. This ensures both parties are aware of the dispute and can begin engaging in a dialogue to resolve the issue.
  • Review of the Dispute: Techihire’s Resolution Team will conduct a thorough review of all materials related to the dispute. This includes contract terms, project details, communication records, work submissions, and, where applicable, time logs. Our team assesses all available information impartially to form a clear understanding of the situation.
  • Decision and Outcome: After reviewing the case, a dispute specialist will make a final decision based on the facts and circumstances surrounding the issue. The decision will be communicated to both parties within a business day, ensuring a prompt resolution. In cases where one party is favored, appropriate action will be taken, such as releasing funds or issuing a refund, depending on the specifics of the dispute.
  • Final Resolution: The resolution process will culminate in the appropriate action being taken to address the dispute. If the decision is in favor of the freelancer, payment will be released accordingly. If the client is favored, the funds may be refunded or adjusted as necessary. All actions are taken in accordance with the terms outlined in the contract, ensuring a fair and just outcome for both parties.

Key Features of Techihire’s Dispute Resolution Framework:

  • Funds Held in Escrow: During the dispute resolution process, any funds related to the disputed work will remain securely held in escrow. This ensures that no payments are finalized until the dispute is resolved, protecting both the client and freelancer from financial risk.
  • Encouraging Direct Communication: While Techihire provides a structured process, we encourage freelancers and clients to attempt direct communication through our platform’s messaging system to resolve misunderstandings before escalating the issue. Open dialogue often leads to quicker, more satisfactory resolutions.
  • Impact on Freelancers' Job Success Score (JSS): Repeated disputes can affect a freelancer’s Job Success Score (JSS) on the platform, which may impact their visibility and opportunities. Therefore, we strongly encourage both clients and freelancers to attempt to resolve any issues amicably to avoid negative consequences.
  • Time Limit for Disputes:
  • Hourly Contracts: Clients have 5 days after the end of a billing cycle to file a dispute regarding the hours worked during that period. If no dispute is filed within this window, the funds are released to the freelancer.
  • Fixed-Price Contracts: For milestone-based contracts, clients have 5 days to dispute a milestone payment if they believe it has not been properly completed. If no dispute is filed within 7 days, the funds in escrow are automatically refunded to the client.

  • Smart Job Proposals: Freelancers are encouraged to submit thoughtful, personalized proposals. Techihire’s AI-driven recommendation engine provides freelancers with curated job matches, ensuring that you’re only applying for projects that align with your skills and interests.
  • Profile Building for Success: Unlike traditional platforms, Techihire gives freelancers real-time insights into their profile performance. Our analytics tools help you improve your profile and maximize your opportunities based on engagement metrics.
  • Client Feedback Loop: Clients have access to a feedback system, allowing them to adjust project requirements or communicate expectations early in the process. This ensures that both parties are aligned and satisfied with the outcome.

 

Authentic Reviews and Ratings

  • Trustworthy Reviews: Techihire is committed to maintaining a fair and unbiased review system. All reviews must be based on actual work completed and should reflect the professional experience of both the freelancer and the client.
  • Rating Transparency: Freelancers are encouraged to provide honest self-assessments alongside client feedback. This helps build an open and transparent rating system that values continuous improvement.
  • No Review Manipulation: We do not tolerate any attempts to alter or manipulate reviews for any reason. Any attempt to provide false reviews or ratings will result in account penalties.

 

Account Violation and Penalties

  • Immediate Penalties for Violations: Violating Techihire’s terms can result in immediate suspension, restrictions, or termination of your account.
  • Continuous Account Monitoring: Unlike other platforms, Techihire utilizes continuous monitoring tools that ensure compliance with our rules in real-time. If suspicious behavior is detected, users will be notified and given a chance to resolve any issues before penalties are imposed.
  • Appeals Process: Users have access to a fair and transparent appeals process. If your account is restricted or terminated, you can submit an appeal directly through Techihire’s support portal for reconsideration.

  • Clients: As a client, you are responsible for creating job postings, evaluating candidates, managing projects, and making timely payments.
  • Freelancers: As a freelancer, you must deliver quality work within agreed-upon deadlines, communicate regularly with clients, and maintain professional conduct.
  • Students: As a student, you are encouraged to utilize the platform for learning opportunities, internships, or project-based work. You should maintain professionalism, meet deadlines, and actively communicate with your mentors or clients. Additionally, students should use the platform responsibly, respecting the terms of service, and engaging in skill-building projects that align with their academic and career goals.
  • Techihire: We facilitate the connection between clients and freelancers but are not responsible for the actions of users. Techihire also provides customer support and dispute resolution services as needed.

Confidential Information

Users agree to keep all sensitive information, including intellectual property, business strategies, and project details, confidential. Violating this confidentiality may lead to legal action.

 

Resolving Disputes

In the event of a dispute, we encourage users to communicate and resolve issues directly. However, Techihire offers dispute resolution services to help settle conflicts through mediation or arbitration if necessary.

Limitation of Responsibility

Techihire does not guarantee the success or quality of any projects completed on the platform. Users agree to indemnify Techihire for any liabilities arising from their use of the platform.

 

4. Escrow Payment Guidelines

Escrow services are provided on Techihire to ensure that both freelancers and clients are protected throughout the project lifecycle. The platform offers secure payment options that are held in escrow until certain milestones or tasks are completed.

Hourly, Bonus, and Expense Payment Agreement with Escrow Instructions

Techihire offers an escrow system that facilitates hourly, bonus, and expense payments between clients and freelancers. The payments are securely held in an escrow account until both parties confirm that the work meets the agreed-upon standards.

  • Hourly Payments: If you are working on an hourly basis, the payment will be based on the time logged on the platform. You must submit regular work logs, and the client must approve these logs to release the funds from escrow.
  • Bonus Payments: Bonuses can be given for exceptional work or project milestones. The client must agree to the bonus amount before the payment is placed in escrow. Once the work is completed to the client's satisfaction, the bonus is released to the freelancer.
  • Expense Payments: If there are agreed-upon reimbursable expenses (e.g., software, travel), these payments will be processed through escrow. Clients must approve the expense details before the funds are released.

 

Escrow Guidelines:

  1. Agreement to Conditions: Both parties (client and freelancer) must agree to the specific terms of the payment before funds are placed in escrow. The terms must be clearly defined and mutually accepted.
  2. Disbursement of Funds: Funds will be released when both parties confirm the project or task has been completed satisfactorily, or as outlined in the initial agreement.

Fixed-Price Payment Instructions

For fixed-price contracts, payments are held in escrow until the job is completed as per the agreed scope. Once both parties confirm the job's completion, funds are transferred to the freelancer.

  1. Initial Deposit: The client deposits the agreed amount into the escrow account.
  2. Milestones: If the project is divided into multiple phases, clients and freelancers can agree on specific milestones. The funds corresponding to each milestone are released as the work progresses.
  3. Completion and Payment: Once the work is complete, the client approves it, and the remaining escrow funds are released to the freelancer.

Escrow Agent

A third-party escrow agent acts as a neutral intermediary between the buyer and the seller to ensure the secure handling of funds, assets, or other transaction elements. The escrow agent will securely hold the buyer's funds or assets in a dedicated account, releasing them to the seller only when all agreed-upon conditions of the transaction are fully met. This process guarantees that both parties' interests are protected throughout the transaction. Additionally, the escrow agent will provide both the buyer and the seller with comprehensive and detailed records of the transaction, ensuring transparency, accountability, and full visibility into the status of the funds.

 

5. Payment Arrangements for Hourly, Bonus, and Expense Work

In this section, we outline how payments are structured for hourly, bonus, and expense-based work on Techihire. These payment arrangements are designed to protect both clients and freelancers by ensuring that funds are secure and that both parties fulfill their obligations.

 

Hourly Work Payment Process

  • Time Tracking: Freelancers must use Techihire’s time tracking tool to log hours worked. Clients can review and approve the time logs before funds are released.
  • Escrow Holding: Clients deposit funds into escrow based on the estimated hours. The escrow funds are released only after the client approves the time logs.
  • Work Disputes: If there is a disagreement regarding the hours worked or the work completed, the issue can be escalated for further mediation. TechiHire's customer support team will intervene to review the details of the dispute and attempt to facilitate a resolution. This process typically applies to:
    • Disputes over payment for work completed under hourly contracts.
    • Disagreements regarding deliverables or milestones in fixed-price contracts.

Our team will assess the situation, review the contract terms, and assist both parties in reaching a fair and mutually agreeable outcome.

Bonus Payments Guideline

  • Milestone Bonuses: Bonus payments can be agreed upon in advance as part of the project scope. These funds are placed in escrow and are only released when the bonus criteria are met.
  • Client Approval: Clients must approve bonus amounts and conditions before funds are placed in escrow. Once the bonus is earned, the freelancer is paid directly from the escrow account.

Expense Payments Procedures

Techihire clients can reimburse freelancers for expenses incurred while working on a project through the Techihire platform If this has been agreed by the client. The process for expense reimbursements on Techihire is as follows:

  • Client issues reimbursement: The client issues an expense reimbursement through Techihire.
  • Freelancer receives reimbursement: The freelancer receives the reimbursement in their Techihire account five to 7 days after the client issues it.

Each payment structure—hourly, bonus, and expenses—is designed to ensure that both freelancers and clients are protected, with clear instructions on how payments are processed and disputes handled. This ensures a smooth working relationship between users on Techihire.

 

6. Escrow Process for Fixed-Price Projects

Techihire’s platform uses an escrow system for fixed-price contracts, ensuring both clients and freelancers are protected throughout the project. Funds are held in escrow until the project is completed according to the agreed-upon milestones.

  • Escrow Activation: The client deposits funds into escrow before work begins.
  • Milestone Payments: The project can be divided into milestones. Payments are released when each milestone is completed and approved.
  • Escrow Dispute Resolution: If there is a dispute over the completion of work, the funds remain in escrow until a resolution is reached.

 

7. Partnering with Escrow Services

8. Authorization for Transaction Fees and Payments

  • Work Authorization: Regardless of where you are located, it is your responsibility to ensure that you meet all local work authorization and legal requirements to freelance or offer services via Techihire.
  • International Accessibility: While we support freelancers and clients in many countries, Techihire is not universally available in all regions. You should check the platform’s availability in your country or region before joining.

Regional Restrictions and Compliance

This policy outlines the steps to add or change your account type, including for those transitioning from a student account to a freelancer profile.

Adding or Switching Account Types

Techihire allows you to hold both freelancer and client accounts under a single username. This means you can seamlessly switch between offering services as a freelancer and managing projects as a client. Whether you need to upgrade from a student account, switch roles, or simply adjust your profile, we’ve made the process easy.

How to Add a Freelancer or Client Account Type:

  • To add a Freelancer Account:
    1. Go to SettingsAccount Info.
    2. Scroll down to the Account Types section.
    3. Select Add Freelancer Account.
    4. Follow the prompts to complete the setup and create your freelancer profile.
  • To add a Client Account:
  1. Go to SettingsAccount Info.
  2. Scroll down to the Account Types section.
  3. Select Add Client Account.
  4. Follow the prompts to create your client profile.

Once both accounts are created, you will be able to easily toggle between your freelancer and client profiles from the account menu in the top-right corner of your dashboard.

How Students Can Transition to Freelancer Accounts:

If you started with a Student Account but are now ready to offer your services as a freelancer, you can upgrade your account type:

  1. Go to SettingsAccount Info.
  2. Select Upgrade to Freelancer from the Account Types section.
  3. Follow the steps to set up your freelancer profile.

Your student account will remain intact, but you’ll now have the option to switch to your freelancer profile when you’re ready to begin working.

  2. Build Your Profile
    Your profile is key to showcasing your expertise and attracting the right opportunities. Be sure to include:
  • Skills: Clearly list the services you offer and your areas of expertise. Be specific and ensure that your listed skills align with the services you intend to provide.
  • Portfolio: Display a curated selection of your work to demonstrate what you are capable of. Include relevant projects that highlight your skills and showcase your professional quality.
  • Profile Settings: Ensure your profile settings are complete and accurately reflect your professional goals, preferences, and communication preferences. This ensures that you’re discovered by clients who align with your expertise.
  • Experience: Provide a detailed overview of your relevant work history and past projects. Sharing this information helps build trust and credibility with potential clients, showcasing your track record and ability to deliver results.
  • Certifications: Highlight any certifications you've earned. Techihire allows you to add digitally signed certificates that, when clicked, link directly to the certification body’s website. This adds authenticity and helps potential clients verify your qualifications.
